MISSION Reviews :: Stories From Our Customers

Dear Mission Team,

Big fan of all your products especially the wake shaper. So much so that I bought my second DELTA this year for my 2016 Cruz as my first shaper (which I bought last year) was lost on one of the last rides of the summer in 2017, and this is where this story begins...

So as quick disclaimer my boat is also wrapped so when I began doing research for ways to improve the push I needed a product which had the best functionality to work with the wrap which ultimately brought me to your company. Once the wake shaper arrived, we (our surfing crew) were all a little skeptic if the product was going to work like it did in the cool promo videos. And after a while of adjusting the position and playing with the surf system on the boat, we finally figured it out and like the video we were off. It worked awesome! Both regular and goofy riders loved the push from the wake shaper. Didn't matter if we had 2 people or 10 in the boat we had a good surf wave as long as we had the ballast full and the shaper was sitting a few inches below the water line everything was great!

As the summer was winding down, we (surf crew) wanted to surf one more time as it was the last weekend everyone was going to be around. We set up like we usually do and all the regular riders go first and are having a blast then we switch sides and get ready for the goofy footers. Now, we’ve never hooked up the leash in any of our rides because all the reviews talked about boat damage and people getting injuries due to the recoil of the cord. Nor did we ever write our name on it or built any type of floating or catch system as we knew it would float... (suction cup up and they are blue - hard to see late in the summer on a busy lake). So we’re off with the goofy footers, and naturally, they have the "better looking" wave due to how the prop spins the weight of the driver but for some reason, the second rider was not catching the normally large sweet spot on the wave. So after a few minutes, I (driver) stop to see if the position on the wake shaper was good and when I go to check, I realized it was gone.

We looked for hours for it on the boat, the next day on the Sparks, and even rode the streets near the side of the lake where we assumed we lost it to check the beaches and it never came up. Now, we are on Gun Lake in Southwest Michigan which it is about 2,200 acres with roughly 100 miles of shoreline so not the biggest but definitely not a small lake, so the odds of finding the 2-foot object floating blue side up was extremely low. So I chalked it up as a lost, thought it was worth it to me due to all the great times we had, and we all went on with our lives.

Now, in preparation for the summer, I order a new wake shaper mainly because I know the product works and if it's not broke don't fix it... We received the new wake shaper right before the Memorial Day weekend, we set it up like last year, and we're off, and everything is good. We've created a new "catch system" as we've learned from our mistakes and thus far everything is working great.

Last week (Wednesday, 6/20/18), my uncle is home a little early (he lives on the lake full time) and is waiting in his truck on the narrows (small section of road with water on both sides) for another car to pass and happens to look down to where the water meets the rocks/beach and what does he find?!?! In the water floating blue side up, he finds last years wake shaper!! And the crowd goes wild!! The crew doesn't believe it as what are the chances that it flows back to us after a late fall, a frozen winter and a cold/rainy spring and comes within 100 ft of the boat. It's a little dinged up, the color is a off a bit, but I swear as the day is long, those damn suction cups worked just like they did the day we took it out of the box!

You guys make a hell of a product, and I've been a big advocate of the DELTA wake shaper for anyone willing to listen. I wanted to share this story as everyone loves a good story especially when the outcome is positive.

Take care and happy riding!

Tyler Harmon
